Mar Leza received her Ph.D in Biology from the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain). Her research focuses on the study of parasites of honey bees. She has participated in several research projects on the control of agricultural pests such as Mediterranean fruit fly and forest pests such as the pine processionary moth and gypsy moth, with results published in journals and conferences related to applied entomology and parasitology.
Moreover, she has collaborated with various research centers, spending time at research institutions in the Regional Beekeeping Centre of Marchamalo (is at the forefront of the research on honeybee’s parasites) and the NERC Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UK). She gives lectures in Zoology included in the Degree of Biology and Rural and Agrifood Engineering of the University of the Balearic Islands.
